Read on for some of my favorite photoshoot locations in Oakland.
Oakland has so many wonderful locations to host a photography session, it is hard to choose just one favorite! Below you will find a curated a list of my top five.
1. Piedmont Park
At the top of my list is Piedmont Park. This park has it all - a gorgeous oak tree perfect for portraits, a redwood grove, an ornate fountain, a bridge, a brick courtyard, the list goes on. It's only a short distance to each different spot, which makes it very easy to get a variety of backgrounds within a thirty minute session. There is a paved path that runs around the park, making it accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. The park is well kept and is an excellent choice year round!
2. Joaquin Miller Park
This Park boasts ponds, flower gardens, granite stairs, oak trees and grassy fields all within a short distance. At the peak of the stairs, you won't be disappointed by the breathtaking view of Oakland and the bay. Street parking and paved paths make this park wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Pathway through Redwood Glen
3. Redwood Glen Trailhead
If you've got your sights set on a quintessential California redwoods vibe, this is the spot for you! Dirt paths wind through the soaring redwoods and set the scene for moody or romantic photos. Great spots for photos are trickled throughout the pathways and all within a short distance. Paths are unpaved but stroller friendly if you don't mind off-roading.
Katie at Morcom Rose Garden
4. Morcom Rose Garden
Morcom Rose Garden, which is quietly nestled into the Piedmont hillside, is an ideal location for spring and summer photo sessions. Rows upon rows of robust blooms add color and texture to a photo session and the result is stunning portraits! This park also has a lovely lane of oak trees and if you catch it at golden hour you won't be sorry! The park is well kept and has wheelchair and stroller access to most areas.
Palm Tree Grove at Jack London Square
5. Jack London Square
If a city vibe is your thing, Jack London Square might be the spot for you! This location has a lot to offer from colorful city streets to Embarcadero views. Choose from a variety of fun photo ops, each within short walking distance, at the heart of vibrant Oakland. Sidewalks are paved and easy for strolling or rolling a wheelchair.
